2018 Summer Courtyard Concert Series

FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

We at First Presbyterian Church, 515 Court Street in historic Olde Towne Portsmouth are pleased to invite you to join us in our courtyard on selected Wednesday evenings this summer for our annual Courtyard Concert Series.

All concerts begin at 7:00 p.m. and are free and open to the public.

Bring your lawn chair and join us for these wonderful concerts as we fill the air of downtown Portsmouth with music, excitement and fun.

Join us for dinner before the concert! To register for the 6:00 dinner ($7), please call the church office at 397-3622 or sign up via PayPal by Tuesday morning each concert week. Dinner is served in our fellowship hall. Please enter through the King Street doors for dinner.

CONCERT SCHEDULE

  • June 13 Shadow Brothers - This group will be performing a collection of original and originally conceived cover songs initially recorded for NPR's (WHRV-FM) "The Acoustic Highway."

  • June 27 2 for Fun - Beach music is at its best with 2 lead singers from the original Rhondels, Brian Bleakley and Steve Ambrose.

  • July 11 Backyard Brass Trombone Quartet -

  • July 25 Top Hats - This group is Virginia's premier swing and dance band

  • August 8 Jim Newsome - Jim is well-known throughout southeastern Virginia as a uniquely talented singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.

  • August 22 Glencoe Lads - This is a dynamic duo of Celtic fiddlers who will surely get your toes tapping!

  • August 29 Charlton Phaneuf - This singer-songwriter/acoustic guitarist based out of Hampton Roads VA, has a repertoire which blends a variety of covers interpreted his own way with a growing list of unique originals.
