The purpose of First Presbyterian Church is to provide avenues of Worship of our Savior Jesus Christ. We attempt to follow the doctrines of John Calvin and other Reformed Traditions and we allow for personal expressions of faith as guided by the Holy Bible.

Welcome to Pentecost 2010
Pentecost 2010

The Worship experience can take many forms. Our two types of formal Worship Services include the traditional service that is held at 11:00 AM each Sunday morning. That service includes the traditional or expected amount of formality but without being stilted or inaccessible. We do enjoy each other's company and rejoice in worshiping the Lord as a community.

A visitor can expect to be greeted warmly and openly. When the time comes for you to seek to join our congregation, see any Elder including the Pastor.

First Fellowship, A Moment Apart A Moment Apart 2010

In addition to the 11:00 AM traditional service, we offer the 8:55 AM First Fellowship, service. When weather permits, we meet in our Friendship Courtyard. The services vary from week to week as noted below. When you visit, you may have a direct impact on what happens that day.

The New First Fellowship:

Services for Mission and Christian Renewal

8:55 A.M. – Beginning September 18, 2011

The Worship Ministry Team is pleased to announce the return of the retooled and retitled New First Fellowship. These

services will combine traditional elements with current themes. We hope to inspire discussion within the service, a renewed desire for mission, and above all Christian renewal. The topical framework and specific times are noted below.

1st and 5th Sundays

8:55‐9:35

The style is a more traditional early service with prayer, confession, hymns, sermon, and the Lord’s Supper (on 1st Sundays only). Bring your Bible.

2nd Sundays

8:55‐9:25

The topic is Christian ethics. We will study an ethical problem and discover what Scripture has to teach us. This service will include prayers for guidance and wisdom, and singing. Bring your Bible.

3rd Sundays

8:55‐9:25

The topic will study global concerns, such as hunger and poverty. We will explore what the Bible teaches about a Christian response to these issues. The service includes prayers for faithfulness, singing, and may include videos. Bring your Bible.

4th Sundays

8:55‐9:25

On the last Sunday of the month, we get a little more personal, studying Christian practices of faith such as hospitality and honoring the body. Again, we will look to how Scripture leads us, praying for discipline, and singing. Bring your Bible.

Whatever is discussed, the service is usually followed by breakfast that often includes grits. Hey, you're in the South now. . .
All are most warmly invited!
